In understanding how a hygienic seal
works, it’s becomes important sometimes
to understand why a hygienic
seal fails. Over tightening or under
tightening a seal will cause serious
problems to a sanitary system.

ANATOMY OF A FAILED HYGIENIC SEAL
An over-tightened gasket will:
• Extrude into the I.D. obstructing flow and collect
soil
• Extrude beyond the O.D.
• Crack, tear and rip and hold bacteria
• Become permanently deformed jeopardizing sealing surface
and product integrity
